Testimonials
Our aim here at SBH is to get as many brumbies as we can safe and trained and then mobbed up on their own mountain land. With now 6 properties on board in our local Snowy Mountains, take a moment to hear their brumby story and why they lined up to take a brumby mob trained by us.
Brumbies are also now approved as a weed management program by our local council with their unique ability to graze down serrated tussock and to graze in rough and steep terrain. Plus at the same time reducing the fuel load for fire management.
Our goal is to have over 100 properties on board in the next 10 years with each having a mob of about 6 brumbies saved. If you want to be part of this then please get in touch.

The Carpo Family

Property 'Top Of The Range

The 'Carpo' Family bought their mountain property in 2019 moving to the Snowies from Brisbane. Their love of the area and a wish to create a self sufficient non chemical food and land base drew them to include brumbies on their land for weed management and now for their new love of riding in the mountains. They are all very active with our registered charity and Sidonie in 2024 became the president. They are very open for any who may be interested in having a brumby mob of their own to visit and hear their story of love they have for their mob members.

"We first met Claire and the Snowy Brumby Horsemanship team at a fundraising event at the Dalgety Brewery shortly after moving to the Snowy Mountains. We were captivated by the gentle nature of Claire's brumbies, especially as they interacted with our young boys. After learning more about the brumbies, we knew we wanted a mob of our own on our 100-acre property. Over the next six months, we spent a lot of time with Claire, learning more about these amazing animals and how to care for them. Claire carefully handpicked our mob, choosing brumbies she thought would be a perfect fit for our family. The experience has been incredibly rewarding, and we are continuing to learn from Claire with each "Brumby School" session. Every morning, we look forward to seeing our brumbies and watching them run free across the property. If you're considering getting a mob of your own or simply want to meet some brumbies, we can't recommend Snowy Brumby Horsemanship enough. The care and dedication Claire and her team show to both the brumbies and their owners is truly special."

"Our SBH Brumbies are more than just brumbies, they are part of the family. We're a young family lucky enough to have a mob of three SBH brumbies on our mountain acreage property. Every morning our mob greets us at our laundry door waiting for a scratch, training or sometimes a carrot. This brings so much joy and laughter to my children, they have formed a very special bond. The brumbies also do a great job at helping us with weed management, grazing on weeds that other livestock won't touch. These brumbies have such a kind and gentle temperament, sometimes it is hard to believe that they were wild not that long ago. Which is a true testament to Claire and the SBH team having done a brilliant job with the first ground work training of them. They are all able to be caught, groomed all over by the kids and stand to have their hooves trimmed.

We look forward to further training with SBH as they grow and become of age for riding. Claire and her team are always there to help no matter how big or small the issue may be. We feel very blessed to be part of the amazing SBH community.

If you are wanting some brumbies of your own I cannot recommend Snowy Brumby Horsemanship and Claire enough."

Peta and Jason

Sugar Loaf Creek, Jindabyne

The brumby journey for Peta and Jason began like many with a friend and neighbour recommending Snowy Brumby Horsemanship for a tour. They came along and instantly fell in love with two brumby mares and their young foals Dalgety and Jindy who had both been born at SBH just after their mums were trapped. They decided that even though with limited horse experience they wanted to make their new mountain home a brumby paradise. They all spent over 12 months getting ready with training on site here for both their brumby mob and them and their family. Then after the gelding of their two colts it was time to go home with their very much loved adopted human family. They will continue growing and learning with the long term focus on riding maybe in the future.. but in the meantime they just adore the interaction and that their brumbies just love them.
